Former President Mhama suffered a severe heart attack after learning that President Akufo-Addo has again nominated Dr. Bawumia to be his vice, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party has said.

Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako explained to Wontumionline.com that former President Mahama knows that “his political career has come to an end because he would be going against the same team that defeated him when he was President”.

The NPP Chairman affectionately known as Chairman Wontumi further explained that “John Mahama isn’t a happy man at the moment. He has suffered a heart attack and he is not going to heal anytime soon. Nana and Bawumia are too strong for him to handle and when they came to office in less than 4 years, you can see that they have performed above average.”

“John Mahama was in office for 8 years and he couldn’t even achieve what Nana and Bawumia have done in this short period. He has suffered a heart break and a heart attack all together and nothing can save him at the moment”, Chairman Wontumi added.

The National Council of the NPP on Saturday acclaimed President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia as Presidential Candidate and Running Mate respectively for December’s Presidential election, and the official confirmation of their formidable partnership marked a historic landmark in Ghanaian politics, as no pair has ever vied for presidential office on four successive occasions.

The Vice President noted that following his record 4th successive nomination, he was confident that the Ghanaian people, come December, will reward President Akufo-Addo with another 4 more years to do more for the people.

“Mr President, you have chosen me for the fourth time, and in shaa Allah, the people of Ghana will give you for four more to do more.”

“What can I say more in appreciation to all the members and sympathizers of the NPP from Polling station, through the constituency, to regional and national level? You have loved me, cared for me, appreciated me. I say God bless you all”.
