FrimpongCandidate of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, John Dumelo says he will win the Ayawaso West Wugon seat by 54%.
According to him, people should not think the seat in the constituency is traditionally NPP so he cannot cause an upset come December 7, 2020.
John Dumelo who was speaking on Accra-based Citi TV mentioned that the NDC has won the Ayawaso West Wugon seat on two occasions hence it’s possible to win it back in 2020.
He noted that through his campaign, he has been made aware of the plight of the people which has not been attended to by the NPP although they have been given power several years by the people in the constituency.
“When they say it’s traditionally NPP I disagree. We won the seat in 1992 and 1996 and we’ve come so close so many times in winning it especially in 2012, 2004 and 2008 we’ve always come close in winning it so it’s not about it being Traditionally NPP.
This is not like a Bantama seat or a Mampong seat or Ejisu seat that we know that this one is a traditional seat for NPP. Even those seats we can still bridge the gap and be able to win it. Something like Ayawaso West is a seat that the NDC is going to win. I’m not going to win it, it’s the NDC that’s going to win.”
“Even the NPP in my constituency when I meet them, they tell me they are tired and need a change for things to be done. They need a young vibrant man who listens and can influence change in the constituency.”
