One feared dead in bloody clash between galamsey rivals in Tarkwa.

One person is feared dead after rivals of two galamsey gangs were clashed in Bonsa, near Tarkwa, on Wednesday.

According to an eyewitness, the matter has been brewing for some time now after a leader of one of the gangs was put in charge of a community mining site by the Member of Parliament, George Mireku Duker.

The rival gangs have attacked each other on a number of occasions at galamsey sites, 3news.com gathers, until community mining was introduced in the area.

There was exchange of gun fire during the clash and stabbings, the eye witness said.

The injured are said to have been rushed to the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
