FrimpongData released by the President of the Ghana Football Association has confirmed that over five hundred Ghanaian Footballers have left the shores of Ghana to seek greener pastures in other countries since the start of 2017.
The data which is being released in series by the FA capo shows that the proportionate of Professionals and Amateurs leaving the country is almost same.
A total of 303 Professionals have left the country from 2017 to date with the Greater Accra region leading in the number of transers with 176 Professional transfers, whiles 258 amateur footballers also traveled out to ply their trade elsewhere.
In total, the Ghana FA supervised 561 transfers out of the country for the last 3 years with the Greater Accra region dominating the number of transfers.
The breakdown shows players from the lower division clubs leave more than those of the top two leagues.
With 133 premier league Footballers, and 44 division one league footballers leaving the country, whiles the other divisions contribute 144 of the total number of Professionals that left the country
In the Amateur category, the Ghana FA reports that 52 Premier league Footballers left the country with 55 division one league Footballers, whiles the other lower leagues had 151 transfers.
Greater Accra leads again in this category of players who left the country with 134 transfers, followed by the central region with 28.
