FrimpongEach of Ghana’s Two Hundred and Seventy-Five (275) Constituencies has received an amount of GH¢6.7 million or more as part of Government’s One Constituency One Million Dollars initiative.
This was disclosed by the Minister in charge of Special Development Initiative, Mavis Hawa Koomson, who says the money is to cater for projects such as warehouses, markets and toilet facilities, among others.
Part of the money, the Minister revealed was used to procure the 307 ambulances, commissioned by President AKufo-Addo on Tuesday, January 28, this year, and distributed to each constituency to help improve emergency health care delivery.
Speaking on Accra-based Joy News, Hawa Koomson noted that the remaining of the $1 million per constituency will be channelled into priority projects upon the demands of each constituency.
Addressing the issue of how much constituencies have been given thus far, she divulged that some have been given GHC6.7million for projects, the least amount disbursed.
