According to an official statement issued on December 24, the process will unfold in two phases—online and in-person registration.
The online registration phase is set to begin on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, enabling MPs-elect to initiate the process remotely. This will be followed by an in-person registration exercise, which will take place from Thursday, January 2, to Monday, January 6, 2025.
To facilitate the process, personalized invitations will be sent to members-elect through WhatsApp or email. The statement added, “Members who may need further clarifications or assistance may contact the officers in charge of the registration exercise on telephone number 055 022 2200 or 0503634466.”
The registration marks a critical step in preparing for the official swearing-in of the new Parliament, ensuring all logistical and procedural requirements are completed seamlessly. This initiative underscores Parliament’s commitment to a smooth transition as it ushers in the next legislative term.
