Passengers traveling from Accra to Techiman on Sunday night faced a harrowing experience when their OA Transport Services bus caught fire near Nsawam on the Accra-Kumasi highway. Though all passengers managed to safely evacuate the vehicle, frustrations are mounting over the transport company’s handling of the incident, with passengers expressing concerns about communication and support.

The bus, which departed from Accra at approximately 9 p.m., was partway through its overnight journey when the fire broke out, leaving passengers scrambling to save personal belongings before safely exiting the vehicle. While there were no injuries, passengers report significant anxiety and distress in the aftermath.

In response, OA Transport Services arranged for an alternative bus to continue the journey to Techiman. However, several passengers claim the company has failed to address their immediate concerns, particularly around lost personal items, many of which were left behind in the flames.

Passengers expressed disappointment in what they described as limited information and support, heightening their frustrations during an already unsettling ordeal.
