The devastating news of a police officer who was murdered by suspected armed robbers when he was escorting a bullion van went viral yesterday and caused a social media uproar.

According to reports, the sad incident happened at Adendepo in Accra near James Town.

The robbers who are said to have fired indiscriminately, shot the policeman on escort duty and killed him, instantly.

A woman of about 30 years, who is yet to be identified was also shot and killed while she was in her shop.

The driver of the bullion van also sustained gunshot wounds.

Reacting to the sad news, controversial social media commentator, Kwame A-Plus took to his official Facebook page and shared a screenshot of a post where lawmakers of Ghana during the era of former speaker Professor Mike Oquaye asked for resources to have bulletproof curtains in Parliament to protect them  while the Ghana Police Service have inadequate bulletproof vests for protection.
