Police on the manhunt for killers of DCE’s driver, 2 others 46

The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for the killers of at least three persons who were gunned down in Dadease in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti region.

The deceased including the driver of the District Chief Executive for the Amansie South District were shot dead during a robbery attack on Monday night.

The dead are said to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds after they were shot at different locations at Manso Dadease near Dantano in the district when the armed robbers stormed the community around 7 pm, blocked the main road leading to the town and started shooting indiscriminately.

The driver of the DCE named as Agya Osei was said to be returning from a public sensitization campaign on COVID-19 when the robbers shot through the windscreen of the vehicle, however, the DCE was not onboard the vehicle.

The armed robbers also shot a 60-year-old man in front of his shop and another person on a motorbike.

The robbers upon sensing danger following distress calls by residents bolted before the police arrived at the scene.

A special team from the Ashanti Regional Police Command has since been deployed to the town as they move to unravel circumstances leading to the gun attack.
