Police rescue ‘thief’ tied to tree, and beaten to pulp [photos]

A 27-year-old man identified as Nsoh Adongo has been tied to a tree by a mob and caned severely at the premises of Dorongo Primary School.

Bolgatanga District police situation report said a preliminary investigation revealed that the young man was accused by some residents of stealing water storage barrel and some stainless-steel bowls.

The Bolgatanga District Command said they received a distress call about the incident and rushed to the scene to rescue him.

When the police proceeded to Dorongo, the officers met a young man with multiple marks of assaults.

“On July 14, 2020 about 1430 hours, the District Police Command had a distress call to the effect that, a young man was arrested at Dorongo was tied against a tree and was being caned by a mob.

“The Assemblyman, Martin Adongo encouraged the attack on the victim”, the situation report revealed.

The suspect-turned-victim was rescued and rushed to the police clinic at Bolgatanga where he was treated and discharged.
