FrimpongA former signee of Highly Spiritual Music, Yaw Berk has asserted that possessing an award as an artiste doesn’t mean the artiste is the best in his genre of music-making or more successful artiste than his colleagues.
Speaking to Ghana News Agency in an interview, the Independent Lady crooner divulged that “some Ghanaian artistes highly overrate awards.”
According to him, some of these artistes who are fortunate to be honoured by award schemes in the country have made it look like their colleagues who don’t have awards have failed which he believes “shouldn’t be the case.”
“Some Ghanaian artistes highly overrate awards. To some, if you do not have an award you have failed as a musician, but that shouldn’t be the case,” he told Ghana News Agency.
