The recent killing of innocent Ghanaians by armed robbers is very alarming. On Saturday evening, 12th June 2021, the wife of Nana Osei Agyemang Prempeh, an aide to Dr. Sarpong, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) was shot dead.
Report according to the Ashanti Regional Police Command indicates that Benedicta Abena Pokua was shot dead by an unknown attacker while driving at the forecourt of Joefel Restaurant at Dichemso, a suburb of Kumasi. Nana Prempeh said that the wife was driving in a different car and all he saw was someone rushed on her and opened gunfire at her.
A report yesterday, Monday, 14th June 2021 also indicates that a 23-year-old student-journalist has been allegedly stabbed to death by her female friend. The deceased, Priscilla Tsegah, had lodged in a hotel for two days. The body of Priscilla Tsegah was found dead in the hotel room after the family declared her missing.
The most recent one is the shooting of Constable Emmanuel Osei, a trader, and the bullion van driver. Reports according to eyewitnesses indicate that a taxi was in front of the bullion van and stop to buy pure water. All they saw next was some three armed men shot Constable Emmanuel Osei and the driver of the van first.
Constable Emmanuel Osei died on the spot whiles the driver sustains an injury. A trader by the roadside was also shot dead when the robbers opened fire on two females in the van when they were running from the scene. Eyewitnesses explained that they were afraid so they lied down to avoid being hit by the bullets.
It was upon this that Tilapia The Cartoonist has drawn this cartoon to show what is going currently in the country. In his video below, it appears we wake every day to hear bad news on the radio. The murdering of innocent Ghanaians in 2021 is too much.
