A single mother has turned to social media seeking advice after confessing she misled her boyfriend about the number of children she has. In her post, the woman shared that she initially told her boyfriend she had only one child, when in reality, she has four.

As their relationship has grown serious, her boyfriend is now planning to visit her family for a formal introduction, raising her anxiety about the truth inevitably coming to light. She expressed fear about how he might react once he learns the full scope of her responsibilities as a mother, especially as trust is a cornerstone of their relationship.

She wrote …

“Please keep me anonymous. His uncles are coming to pay lobola this weekend. We have been dating for 8 months and I told him I only have one kid and he’s okay with it. The truth is I have 4 kids. When I lied I didn’t know things were gonna get serious. He is paying lobola because we just found out that I’m pregnant and he wants us to raise our kids together. I don’t know whether to tell him the truth or not. My parents do not know I lied to him. I have an uncle that doesn’t have brakes on his mouth. I know he will ask my man’s family if they know I have 4 kids from three different fathers. I’m so stressed right now. Please advise me.”

The post has sparked a wave of responses online, with some advising her to come clean before the introduction to avoid further complications, while others have encouraged her to approach the conversation with honesty and compassion.
