Joe PeeAward-winning Ghanaian actress Martha Ankomah has pleaded with the West to stop providing Ghana with loans because the money is diverted into wrong ventures.
According to her, the country is blessed with abundant resources to be able to manage its own affairs if these resources are put to good use so there is no need for loans.
Actress Martha Ankomah was speaking on Accra-based Accra FM when she made this known.
To the well-respected actress, Ghana’s problem has always been leadership and that has been very worrying for the country.
“The whole of Africa our problem has been leadership not just politicians because Dubai with only one resource which is oil and can develop to this stage then Ghana will all the resources…I even hear now we have oil in Ghana. If you think about it the whites are not supposed to give is loans.
What Dubai has is only Oil, they don’t have timber, cocoa, they don’t even grow mango there. Here we plant all these things and also have very good weather. Even when Corona started, the whites thought the black will die but our numbers are proof of the fact that God’s hands is on the continent. Our problem is leadership.”
She continued “If our leaders will develop love for the country and the continent to turn things around it can be better. It’s better to be impactful so that when you leave, your footprints will never leave. It’s better to sit in a V8 and be impactful than distribute rice, goat, sheep during election. You can’t sit in a V8 whiles pupils in your constituency still go to schools under trees”.
