The country is still debating the answers given by the Defense Minister, Dominic Nitiwul to Parliament regarding a private jet that President Akufo-Addo used.
Many have chastised the president for chartering an expensive jet at a time that citizens have been burdened with excessive taxes. Yesterday the Defense Minister explained the state of the presidential jet and why the President opted for that jet.
Today, Thursday, June 17, 2021 on ‘Good Morning Ghana’, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako argued that he found nothing wrong with the response of Nitiwul. He maintained that he doesn’t understand why people are using ‘shower excuses’ when that was not mentioned in the response on paper. I feel the Minister of Defense has answered the question. He even went beyond that. There is nothing wrong with the response. The question on the worthiness of the presidential jet has been answered.
Okudzeto Ablakwa made needless comments. He should have waited for the minister to come to Parliament before making those statements. Picking figures from the internet is irresponsible. You don’t do that. He should have waited for the Finance Minister to come and answer. There is nothing about showering in an aircraft. I feel it was an error that the Mills judgement decided to cancel the purchase of a jet in 2010” Kweku Baako said
