A rescue operation is underway in Akyem Batabi in the Eastern region where a three-storey church building has collapsed, killing one.
The Daily Graphic has reported, several worshippers have been trapped inside the building housing The Church of Promise.
It collapsed Tuesday afternoon while church service was in session.
About 65 worshippers have been trapped. Only four people, as of 4:30 pm have been rescued.
According to Daily Graphic’s Eastern Regional correspondent, Kyei-Boateng, voices of those trapped inside could be heard with some screaming for help.
A bulldozer is currently on site trying to move the wreckage so that lives could be saved.
One dead body has also been retrieved from the wreckage.
