Reactung to media reports suggesting the Football community has been leftnout of the package announced by the president earlier on, Mr Asante Twum insisted football and sports which are captured by the Government in the social subsector were mentioned to be part of the package.

“football was captured in the government’s social services, hence football is part of the government’s stimulus package.” He told Fox FM.

On the resumption of the league, Mr Asante Twum told the Kumasi based station, “we are waiting on the response from the government. Whatever decision that comes out of it will be appreciated. If the government rejects it, we will go by it. Likewise, if they accepts it with recommendation, we will also appreciate it. The general public should give us little time on it.”

Further to the resumption of the league and other competitions, the Ghana FA head of communication stressed that the leadership of the Football Association have met representatives of the Government and heath authorities on the way forward.

“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and their medical team yesterday met the government officials and the National Health Services on their proposal about football”
