Rosemond Alade Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo was convicted by the Accra Circuit Court last Wednesday after she pleaded guilty on all the three charges leveled against her for posting a ‘nude’ photo of herself and her son on social media.
The court remanded her into police custody to undergo a pregnancy test as she awaits her sentence today.
It was on this note that most Ghanaians and some top level celebrities like Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Lydia Forson, DKD, Efia Odo, pastor Dr Sonnie Badu, Kwaw Kesse etc took to social media yesterday to add their voices to the case by pleading with the court not to sentence Akuapem Poloo to prison.
The conversation was so tense that a hashtag they started #FreeAkuapemPoloo trended on micro blogging site Twitter as number one for the whole of yesterday.
The renowned Multimedia journalist and host of Newsfile on JoyNews stated the actions by most Ghanaians and some of these celebrities is preempting the court in it’s decision making.
He added we don’t know what the court might be thinking or what the decision of the court may be so its better we stop taking actions or thinking for the court.
