During a youth demonstration over their dilapidated footbridge and road connecting from Nsuta to Supom is a dead trap which both NPP and NDC has made fake promises to them over the years but nothing has been done till now they told us.
He added that demonstration is the only language being heard by their ‘deaf’ political leaders in their constituency
Some of the residents and the moto riders also revealed to us that, there has been numerous deaths associated with the current state of the bridge and the road as sick people are carried at their backs for several miles before reaching a health facility.
Again they said until their dilapidated bridge and road is repaired, they would never allow a politician enter their town for campaign and even the December 7th election as a whole.
Furthermore they said the community is known of farming activities where cocoa, rice, coconut, maize and so many food stuff are been produced to the nation.
The Assembly member for Nsese electoral area, Hon. Godfred Nortey, said all efforts has been made to the MP, the DCE but not even a single response.
He urged the government to deem it necessary to focus on the rapid infrastructural development in the communities. And however lamented that, the present leadership of the council had not carried out any developmental projects in the area. A situation the district assembly is supposed to have done everything possible to address without delay”.
Meanwhile, Nana Domanu Thomas, the chief of Aboabo community said, “the residents of the communities have been neglected of the provision of roads, chip- compound, potable water and Education.
”The absence of a toilet facility in this communities has worsen the situation in the area, and thus calling on Assembly and the government to assist the community in constructing a new toilet facility for the people, to an existing dilapidated. he stressed.
Speaking to Ghwired.com on 24th October, 2020, the assemblyman said the DCE has finally headed to their call. The DCE has promised to see to it that all their problems are resolved before December elections.
The assemblyman said the demonstration will not hold if the DCE fulfill his promises.
