Award-winning Ghanaian musician Wendy Shay, celebrated for her philanthropic efforts, has once again demonstrated her commitment to uplifting underprivileged communities. This time, the “Vivian” hitmaker turned her focus to education, spearheading impactful improvements at Manhean M/A Basic School in Ghana’s Eastern Region as part of World Children’s Day 2024 celebrations.

Through her foundation, Wendy Shay provided a wealth of educational materials to foster better learning conditions. Her donation included over 100 school uniforms, 1,000 exercise books, 100 erasers, 216 pencils, 100 sharpeners, 100 rulers, and 100 pens. These essential items aim to ease the burden on families and encourage active participation in school activities.

Recognizing the need for enhanced classroom facilities, Wendy Shay contributed four white marker boards, two graphic boards, 30 packs of whiteboard markers, and alphabet and number charts. These tools were designed to make teaching more interactive and effective, promoting a better understanding of lessons. To improve comfort, she installed ten ceiling fans across the school, creating a conducive environment for both students and teachers.

Addressing infrastructural challenges, Wendy Shay’s foundation undertook significant repairs to the school’s cracked floors, supplying 26 bags of cement and a truckload of sand to reinforce the building’s safety. In addition, she donated six plastic chairs to supplement seating arrangements for students and staff.

During the handover ceremony, Wendy Shay expressed her dedication to education and societal development. “This is just the beginning,” she remarked. “We have so much more planned to support education and other critical sectors in Ghana. I urge others to join me in this journey of transformation.”

Her heartfelt appeal for support reflects her vision of making a lasting impact on communities in need. Wendy Shay’s initiative at Manhean M/A Basic School stands as a testament to her belief in education as a catalyst for change, inspiring hope and opportunity for Ghana’s future generations.
