Joe PeeDuring the introduction of running mate Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Johnson Asiedu Nketia gave a powerful speech on why the party chose a female running mate.
According to Asiedu Nketia, the chose a woman because they’ve realized the western style of government isn’t helping the country to progress fast.
He explained that a woman as Vice President to a male President will be mirroring the traditional Ghanaian leadership where there is a King/Chief and a Queenmother.
In the traditional Ghanaian setting, when the king or Chief finds it difficult to decide on a thing, they consult the old woman who happens to be the Queenmother for knowledge.
