Media General journalist Godsbrain Smart popularly known as Captain Smart continues to take swipes at President Nana Akufo-Addo and other top government officials with the most unsavory words.
The savage journalist in his latest attack on President Akufo-Addo described him as a sick 419 President and sakawa old man.
” You are sick, I had the opportunity to become the youngest DCE and MP in this country but I rejected the offer. Nana (Akufo-Addo ) you are everyday increasing our anger and I am not surprised because you are a 419 President, you are Sakawa old man.” Angry Captain Smart said on Onua TV to President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Captain was speaking on the newly introduce 1.75% e-levy on electronic transactions captured in the 2022 budget presented by Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta before Parliament.
The controversial journalist’s uncouth approach to addressing issues has left many well-meaning Ghanaians raise questions about why his employer’s allow him verbally abuse people on live TV and radio.
Captain Smart was sacked by his previous employers for similar behaviour where he verbally assaulted the President and Vice. His style of journalism a complete drift from the rudiments of the profession which is to probe and demand accountability.
Captain was recently granted bail after he was arrested Thursday afternoon.
According to a police statement, “he was arrested following some unsavoury pronouncements that hinge on peace and security. He has been cautioned on the offence of offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace as provided under section 207 of the Criminal Act, 1960 (Act 29). He is presently in Police custody assisting the investigations”.
