FrimpongThe Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has scolded the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), John Dramani Mahama for abandoning the Manhyia Palace ever since he and his party lost the general elections in 2016.
John Mahama today introduced his running mate, Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang to the overlord of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
One of the wealthiest Kings in Africa, Otumfuo, in a welcome address to John Mahama and his team who visited him noted that for a very long time, the leadership of the NDC had not visited him as they did before when they were in government.
“You only visit me when you were in power, it has been a while you came to visit me. Today I have seen people who for a very long time, I haven’t set eyes on”, he said in an address.
Per the reports sighted on Wontumionline, the Asante King, at the end of his speech, advised them to visit the Manhyia Palace like they used to before.
“My grandchildren, today I have seen you all, next time come and visit me”. Otumfuo stated.
