Workers of waste management company, Zoomlion Ghana Ltd on Monday March 16 were asked to go home as management of the company shut its offices in Accra over COVID-19 fears, Adwoaadubia News can confirm.

A communique to staff directed everyone to go home “until further notice”.

The move by management of the company, according to Adwoaadubia News’ sources may be replicated across all of the company’s offices in all 16 regions even as steps are taken to protect both staff and clients at a time when global cases of the infections surge to a record 175, 817 in more than 80 countries.

It is however unclear if this decision by management of Zoomlion Ghana Ltd affects its subsidiaries in the five(5) other african countries it operates in namely; Togo, Angola, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea and Liberia.

Zoomlion Ghana’s move comes on the back of a directive by President Akufo-Addo that all social gatherings be stopped and schools shut down.
